How to prevent baldness in men ?

Hello,

This is a very nice question, it shows a sign of the well conscious patient. " prevention is better than cure " truly stands for your step.

Prevention is actually necessary before its too late. usually, patients get conscious when there is no prevention possible and only option left is hair transplant.

before prevention, we should first know what is normal hair loss. 50 to 100 hair strand loss is completely normal and there is no need of any treatment as hairs in telogen phase fall out.

if you are experiencing hair loss above that quantity then this is an issue of some concern. In that case, you should see what can be the probable cause of your above normal hair loss. There are many causes listed below

  1. nutritional deficiency
  2. androgenetic ( i.e inheritance from your father or mother side )
  3. telogen effluvium ( i.e due to physical or emotional shock)

In this case, you should go chronologically first look for nutritional causes. In the following video by our one of the trichologistsDr Sejal Shah, you will find nutritional causes of hair loss in a male.

once you understand the nutritional causes then try to correct your nutrition and try to have a healthy diet

containing all necessary vitamins, micronutrients, minerals, and proteins. here is the answer on what you should eat to prevent a hair loss in the male.

in the second case if any of your relative from the paternal or maternal side is having a baldness then you might be suffering from pattern baldness. in this case, you need to get a consultation from good dermatologists and immediately start consuming minoxidil and finasteride ( video on minoxidil for hair growth) along with the other conservative therapies like PRP and Mesotherapy. please make a note that if you are suffering from pattern baldness then you may need to consume minoxidil and finasteride for a lifetime or till you want hairs on your scalp or till you do a hair transplant.

in the third case of telogen effluvium, you will have to take minoxidil and finasteride till you get completely rid of hair loss which is usually 3 months period.

but the safest move to know what is your cause of hair transplant is getting a consultation by a good dermatologist when you notice an excessive hair loss than normal.
