What causes male hair loss?

Testosterone, a male sex hormone very important for adult male features such as facial and body hair. In some people and their families, there are genes which make their hair follicles more sensitive to testosterone. This leads to the hairs becoming shorter and thinner with each cycle of air growth. Generally, the balding process is gradual and you will only lose hair on your scalp.

  • Heredity (Family History)

Individuals who are on retinoids or Vitamin A medicines for a longer duration. I can cause hypervitaminosis in the body, which can result in hair fall.

Treatment for Male Hair Loss in 40’s

Generally, Minoxidil and finasteride are prescribed for the treatment of hair loss in men. Which also promotes hair growth. Minoxidil works by increasing the blood flow to the hair follicles and extend the growth phase of hair follicles. It is available in 2%, 5% to 10% and depending on your hair fall condition it is prescribed. Finasteride blocks the enzyme called a 5-alfa reductase which generally converts the testosterone into DHT and prevents hair loss.

  • Dermaroller for hair loss

Dermaroller widely used procedure for hair loss and it gives good results too. It is a device which has many fine needles on it. When we roll it on the scalp, it pricks the skin on the scalp and causes pinpoint holes on the scalp. Platelet-rich plasma therapy for hair loss (PRP) is a procedure where our bodies blood is taken and growth factors present in our plasma are used. These growth factors stimulate the growth of your hair. It also activates the hair cells and helps them to grow faster.

  • Mesotherapy for hair loss

Mesotherapy for hair loss is very much similar to PRP. The only difference is, in PRP we use our bodies growth factor and in mesotherapy, we use botanical growth factors. These botanical growth factors are injected into the scalp with the help needles present in the device, which stimulates hair growth.
